My Honest Review & Guide on the Gucci Ace Embroidered Sneaker

Within the last year I have quickly become a sneaker kind-of-gal. I would always have a few pair of sneakers I would wear on the weekends, but it wasn't until recently that I really began loving sneakers and wanting to wear them with not only jeans & t-shirts but with dresses and skirts. I realized that they would soon become part of my everyday wardrobe. Today I'm sharing my love for Gucci sneaks. It's no secret that Gucci is one of my favorite brands, I've been obsessed with the brand for a few years now and I still can't get enough of it. There always seems to be another Gucci piece on my wishlist.

One of my 2019 Gucci purchases (that I also think was one of my best) was a pair of the Ace Embellished Sneakers. While I know I'm a little late to the game, I had been going back and forth wondering for quite awhile if they really were worth the steep price. I couldn't really find a lot of reviews about them online, but I knew I loved the style and I'm always looking for a new pair of white sneakers in my closet. I ended up going to the Gucci Store at Copley place and tried them on. I knew right then, that I loved them and that I was seriously obsessed. I HAD to have them. My Review of the Gucci Ace Sneaker

I really don't think that I need to go into much detail here. As I mentioned I am obsessed with these sneakers. These sneakers are honestly so comfortable right even out of the box, I can't let that go un-noticed. I love the pop of color and the incredibly easy styling. They go so well with all types of outfits and really complete a simple look. Because they don't need breaking in, and they are quite comfortable I would have to rate these sneakers very high on my list. Do I think they're worth it? If you genuinely think that you wear sneakers a lot and you want something that spices that outfit up i'd say to go for it!

Which Style to Buy

I had been eyeing the Ace sneakers, for awhile, like I said, but I wasn't sure which ones I wanted. I finally went into the store one day and I saw these up front and center I knew I had to have them. They reminded me and made me think they had a grecian feel, I loved that! They are just so unique and cool that you really can't go wrong. There are currently 24 different SKU's in the women's collection online. My favorites are the embellished, embroidered and classic styles.

What To Wear With Them

I've worn my sneakers with denim mostly, but they also look great with a casual shirt dress or a statement bottom.

Where To Buy Them

So you can directly buy them from any Gucci store, which there are two in Boston, one in the Bloomingdales in Chestnut Hill, and then one in Copley. You can also buy them online, or any designer retailers such as Saks 5th Ave or Neiman Marcus.

How to Keep Them Clean

Surprisingly, they are not as hard to keep clean given that they are a white sneaker. The leather isn't super porous, which means they don't absorb stains as easily. The leather is slightly stiff yet soft, so it doesn't crease easily - one of my pet peeves of white sneakers! Creases are usually a dead giveaway on white sneakers. To keep them in the best condition I use natural baby wipes on them or my personal fave a magic eraser (very lightly) if there's a visible scuff.

Are They Worth The Cost

The embellished Ace sneakers retail for $670 - which is steep! It's hard to say if any pair of designer shoes is worth the cost because shoes don't really have the same resale price as bags or leather goods. If anyone knows me they know that I LOVE shoes to the point that i have so many I can't even count anymore. But they are in the same price range as Golden Goose sneakers and I would say Gucci Ace sneakers may be a better option if you are looking to elevate your wardrobe. If you are looking for a more casual, less flashy option, then Golden Goose would be a better choice

Are They Still a Good Purchase in 2019

It's no secret that the "hot designer brand" status continually shifts season-to-season. That said, I do think that Gucci has staying power as it has for decades. The Ace sneaker is actually a revival of the 1970's classic tennis shoe style that can also be worn as a sneaker, so you can be sure this sneaker style will stick around for years to come.
